I Have Memories of Past Lives
I have memories of past lives.
It’s a little weird, but it’s also a little fascinating.
I think I was Umrao Jaan. By the way, I prefer the Rekha movie over the Aishwarya Rai one. For those of you who don’t know who she is, she was a famous poet, singer, and dancer who was forced into prostitution at a young age in India.
It is a mystery whether or not Mirza Hadi Ruswa based his main character, Umrao Jaan, on a real woman.
It’s possible I was a fictional character in a past life.
I may not have been Umrao Jaan, but I very likely was a dancing woman in India.
I think I was another famous person, and I’m embarrassed to tell you. Why am I embarrassed? It sounds ridiculous.
I think I was Marilyn Monroe. Or should I say, Norma Jean?
She was a funny, delightful, intelligent, and extremely sad woman. Of course she was beautiful as well, but we all know that.
But do we all know what fame and her demons did to her? They literally killed her.
I have no evidence of any of these past lives. I just remember.
Which kind of pisses me off because I can’t remember why I walked into a room sometimes.
When I was 25, I remembered I had a relationship with a certain man who shall remain unnamed in a past life. I reached out to him and told him. He had a fiancée at the time. He was ten years older than me.
As you can imagine, that did not go well for me.
Because of all the people involved, I do not feel comfortable telling this whole story.
I have other memories of other people I have been, but I am not willing to reveal all that today.
For those of you who do not believe in reincarnation, it may sound as though I’m having delusions or something.
Maybe I am.
But I’ve been pretty convinced by god that I am not wrong.
I guess you’ll just have to take his word for it.
He could be a liar, though.
We don’t know.
I believe souls travel in groups to their next lives. I am 100 percent sure I knew my father in a past life, even though I don’t have any memory of it. The only way I can explain it is that we had a soul connection I’ve never had with anyone else in the world.
My Dad living his best life
A few years ago, I went to an online seminar led by Neale Donald Walsch, who wrote Conversations with God. He gave the attendees his actual email address. I may or may not have emailed him and told him that we were lovers in a past life.
In my defense… I have no defense. I don’t know how to shut my mouth. Of course he didn’t write back because he is an honorable man.
I have certain friends who I am pretty sure I have known in a past life because of how I feel our souls connect. Some of them are tumultuous relationships. I have no real memory of the life in which we knew each other, though.
A couple of very close friends give me that soul-connection feeling, the notion that I’ve known you forever. Literally.
Like since eternity or something.
I don’t claim to understand reincarnation or karma. I don’t know how it works. It’s very mysterious. I think god does that on purpose because if we remembered all our past lives, we would be haunted in this life.
The things we did, the people we were, the things that were done to us.
You don’t want to know.
Trust me.
It’s better this way.
Ignorance is bliss.
