I got a ticket. Wanna know why? Because I’m stupid.
Truly and honestly. I made an illegal move, literally in front of a police station.
Anyways, I guess I’m going to court. Well, I always wanted to be a lawyer… on TV.
Well, since my Hollywood dreams have been dashed, I’ve missed my calling. Again. But that did not stop me from becoming a drama queen.
So Princess Nina has to dole out money to the government. By the way, Kaur means princess. Every Sikh woman is supposed to take that as her last name.
Anyways, in India, they call the po-po Mama Ji or Cha Cha Ji, which basically means uncle, I guess. Roughly.
As I was saying, I did try to bat an eyelash at the police officer when he pulled me over. He was not having it. I have no traffic violations, so I usually don’t get tickets, but this guy was not charmed by my profuse apology.
Basically, you know why I was in such a hurry? I wanted a bagel.
The things I will do for food. Anyway, Einstein Bros. Bagels closes at 2:30; it was literally like 2:25.
Yes, I will risk my life for a good snack. Especially if it involves cheese.
So, after I got the ticket, I went to the bakery next to the bagel shop and bought myself a delicious cupcake.
You know, when my father was ill, I gained some weight. I am getting it off now, but I mean, if you get a ticket, you get a treat. That’s the law.
Police officer… never trust a man with a gun. I learned that in feminist literature.
I know, I know… I have met some amazing police officers.

Really, I’m not exaggerating. Once, a police officer talked me off the ledge of a panic attack.
I have friends who start crying when they get pulled over. But since I never made it to the big screen, my acting skills aren’t that good. I can’t cry on demand.
So that basically means I can’t manipulate a man with my tears. I’m kidding. I think that was a very non-feminist thing to say.
I have a driving problem; I take long drives, and in this economy that is not sustainable. I do it anyways, it clears my head. I sing, and I ran into a deer the other day. Don’t worry, I didn’t die; I’m not talking to you from the other side.
Anyways, as I was saying. What was I saying? This is the mind of a woman in perimenopause. It’s not pretty.
There was a point to this story, but I have forgotten it, or I never really had it.
I have no idea what I’m saying or why I’m saying it.
Bye for now…
